New criminal laws that will replace the IPC, CrPC, and Evidence Act are set to come into effect on July 1, 2024.
Three recently passed criminal legislation will drastically alter the criminal justice system in India beginning on July 1, 2024. The Indian Penal Code (IPC), the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC), and the Indian Evidence Act of 1872 are among the colonial-era legislation that these laws seek to replace.
The principal alterations are as follows:
1. The Nyaya Bharatiya Sanhita

3. The Act of Bharatiya Sakshya:
1. The Indian Evidence Act is
replaced.
2. Focuses on the admissibility, proof,
and evidence rules in criminal prosecutions.
